FAQs

Who runs Neighborhood Gardens?

There are several groups of people who are integral parts to leading Neighborhood Gardens. Firstly, Lauren and Garrett are the brains behind the operation and the founders of Neighborhoods Gardens. Second, Tim, our specialist on all things plants and seeds, helps manage the variety of plants present in our garden and is key to their success. Finally: you! Each individual garden is each led by the community they benefit.

When was Neighborhood Gardens founded?

Who does Neighborhood Gardens aim to serve?

Various members of the Dallas Community who are lacking access and resources to fresh produce. Anyone who is lacking fresh foods are more than welcome to our gardens. Our goal is to eliminate food deserts!

How do I know if I can take food from the garden?

The food in our gardens is available to anyone who needs it. Whether you stop by once or regularly, the gardens are lovingly planted for community use. If you need advice or instructions on how/what to harvest, please visit the Location section of our website for tutorials and regularly updated information. The gardens are shared by the community, so we ask everyone who participates in this project to respect them.

What food can I take and when?

Please look at the Locations tab and click on your garden location for specific information on harvesting and cooking.

How do I get involved?
